About the song
Jingle Bells was written by James Lord Pierpont and published in 1857 under the title "One Horse Open Sleigh". The melody here is the well-known chorus.
Why it is a good song to learn
The chorus uses only five notes, C D E F G, which fit under the five fingers of your right hand. Many notes repeat, so you can focus on rhythm and keeping a steady beat.
How to practise
Put your thumb on C4 and leave your hand in place; every note is under a finger. The first two groups are three Es each, with the third E held longer. The two halves of the chorus are almost the same, only the ending changes, so learn the first half well and the second half follows quickly.
