How the recorder works
The recorder notes which keys you press and when, not the sound itself. That keeps recordings tiny and lets you play them back with the same piano sound.
Save keeps the recording in this browser on this device (local storage). It is not uploaded, and clearing your browser data deletes it. Up to 20 recordings are kept.Copy link puts the notes inside the web address itself, after the # sign. Anyone who opens the link hears your recording. The part after # is not sent to the web server, so the recording is not stored by us.Download MIDI saves a standard MIDI file (.mid). MIDI files can be opened in music programs such as GarageBand, MuseScore or other notation and recording software, where you can edit notes, change the instrument or print sheet music.Good to know
Recording starts at the first note you play, so you do not get silence at the start. Very long recordings make long share links; for those, use Save or Download MIDI.
