The full range of a piano
A standard modern piano has 88 keys: 52 white keys and 36 black keys. The lowest note is A0 and the highest is C8. This virtual piano shows the same range, so you can explore the deep bass and the bright top notes that a short keyboard does not reach.
The computer-keyboard letters play the octave set with the Octave buttons, starting from the C shown next to them. Press Z or X to move that octave down or up. Turn on Key letters to see which keys they control.
On a phone, turn it sideways and swipe the keyboard area left or right to move. Use the Full screen button on a computer or Android device for the biggest keys.
Tips for playing
Hold the space bar for sustain, as you would press the right pedal on an acoustic piano. Lower notes ring longer than high notes, just like on a real instrument.
